History of NIMBO
The History and Vision of NIMBO
On December 24, 2025, Hon. Thomas Pangar Fallah, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, founded the National Independent Movement for Boakai (NIMBO). Conceived as a broad-based political movement, NIMBO emerged at a pivotal moment in Liberia's democratic journey with the core objective of mobilizing and coordinating support among independent citizens and members of various political parties in support of the leadership and vision of His Excellency President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr.
The movement was first unveiled in Voinjama City, Lofa County, where its county headquarters was officially dedicated in the presence of President Boakai and several senior government officials. This historic occasion marked not only the birth of a new political movement but also reaffirmed Lofa County's enduring role as a symbol of national unity, peace, and democratic renewal.
Building on this momentum, NIMBO was formally launched in Monrovia on May 24, 2026. During this landmark event, President Boakai broke ground for the construction of the movement's national headquarters. The ceremony highlighted NIMBO's rapid growth and established it as one of the fastest-growing political movements in Liberia.
At its core, NIMBO transcends the traditional scope of a political organization. It is a movement dedicated to promoting national unity, peace, and sustainable development. The organization is committed to supporting President Boakai's second-term vision and ensuring continuity of the ARREST Agenda: Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, and Tourism. NIMBO embraces the President's commitment to inclusive governance, responsible leadership, transparency, accountability, and the fight against corruption as essential pillars of Liberia's long-term prosperity.
Expansion Across Liberia and the Diaspora
NIMBO's growth has been both rapid and remarkable. Within months of its establishment, the movement began organizing county chapters across Liberia to strengthen grassroots participation and ensure active citizen engagement at every level of society.
Recognizing the significant role of the Liberian diaspora in national development, NIMBO expanded its presence beyond Liberia's borders. In June 2026, Hon. Thomas P. Fallah, serving as Vision Bearer, led a high-level delegation of legislators and movement executives on a diaspora outreach tour to the United States and Canada.
The tour culminated in the successful launch of NIMBO USA and NIMBO Canada, with fully established and installed leadership structures. Plans are also underway to launch chapters throughout Europe and Australia, further strengthening the movement's international presence and creating meaningful opportunities for Liberians abroad to contribute to national development.
Leadership and Organizational Structure
NIMBO is led by Hon. Thomas P. Fallah as its Vision Bearer, with the support of key members of the Honorable House of Representatives who play important roles in shaping the movement's direction and decisions.
The day-to-day operations of the organization are coordinated through a fully functioning Secretariat based in Monrovia. The Secretariat ensures effective administration, strategic planning, and coordination among county and international chapters, enabling the movement to remain organized, responsive, and focused on its mission.
A Movement for the Future
Since its inception, NIMBO has stood as a beacon of hope, unity, and renewal. It represents a collective aspiration for a Liberia that is peaceful, prosperous, inclusive, and governed with integrity.
By connecting communities across Liberia and throughout the diaspora, while advancing national development priorities, NIMBO continues to inspire confidence in a future driven by responsible leadership, citizen participation, and shared national progress. The movement remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting the vision of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., and contributing to the continued growth and transformation of Liberia.
